| 15 May 2007: Well well well, this news section is long overdue an update. 2007 has been a super busy year so far. Click the flashy little wedding ring at the bottom right hand corner of the page to check out my new wedding photography section. There are a couple of new projects in Photography section and some tear sheets in Commercial. The Cake magazine sub site has been updated with submission info and a mailing list sign up. Lots of new things to see! In January some chavs stole my precious Metro, Myrtle the Turtle, and brutally murdered her by smashing her into a wall. Now I drive around in a grey-hippo-lump of a Fiesta. Never mind. One day I’ll have a whole garage of vintage Ford cars! I didn’t take many photographs because I was sulking for pretty much the entire month. My friends opened an alternative boutique called ‘Starling Vendetta’ on Charles Street in Newport and I’m the featured artist. You can see a mini exhibition of my work there and buy lots of fabulous handmade stuff! On Wednesdays you can find me there, sitting on the church pews, eating chocolate flapjack and playing Nintendo. In February I was part of the ‘Textual Healing’ exhibition of artist books at the Embassy Gallery in Edinburgh and I had my ‘Morning After’ project printed in Practical Photography magazine. I drove to Birmingham for the first time ever to see the Black Keys and ate the poorest excuse for a veggie fried breakfast ever (only one hash brown!). I went to Eurodisney and discovered I love rollercoasters. Too much. It snowed and I had a phone-call from America. In March I worked a whole lot for other people; taking snaps for the Voice magazine, What Peterborough magazine and some wedding & portrait sessions. I embarked on many epic car journeys and got better at finding my way places. I also learned a valuable life lesson. I expect I’ll forget it before long. In April I was held prisoner by my application for funding for Cake magazine. The walls were covered in sheets of paper & sharpie scribbling but eventually it all sort of came together. I spent far too long at the laptop and developed square eyes. Sold a record number of prints (thank you everyone!) and got my fingers stuck together with spray mount on more than one occasion. Sold my first image license. Discovered there was such a thing as online Scrabble and became addicted. Unfortunately only two of my friends will play with me because I’m a nerd. In May I officially obtained international gallery representation with The Beholder! You can now view my work on their website. They say this about me (which makes me a very happy girl indeed!): Eleanor is my first artist from the UK, and I'm really excited to have her work on the site. If T.S. Eliot were a photographer, he'd most likely be making images that looked like these. And if you happen to live in Los Angeles, you can catch my work as part of the Beholder’s group photography show at Tinlark Gallery on Saturday 19th May. Free goodies from Lemon magazine and funky music. What more can you ask for?! As for the rest of the month, I have lots more tricks & troubles up my sleeve so keep checking back. 29 September 2006: New mounted prints and pin badge sets added to the Goodies section! 'Wretch' is now sold out. |
| 11 August 2006: New pictures added to the 'Photography' section from a little project I'm working on. Please feel free to email me if you'd like to let me know what you think. You can now view an example of my work at the Dazed and Confused creative directory at www.confused.co.uk |
